Taking several different probiotic strains is very positive because different strains have different properties and thrive in the different acidic environments found in the gastrointestinal tract. The intestinal mucosa is renewed regularly and needs several types of active bacteria in order to thrive.

This probiotic is designed to be taken regularly throughout the year. It should be taken together with food.
Probiotics and antibiotics
This probiotic supplement is also formulated to counteract the negative effects of antibiotics.
There are times when antibiotics are necessary. However, antibiotics reduce the overall diversity of the gut microbiota. Antibiotics also disrupt the balance that exists between the various species in the gut flora. In addition, antibiotics cause a decrease in species diversity, which can lead to the overgrowth of pathogenic bacteria and the overgrowth of fungi and Candida.
If antibiotics are needed, the daily dose should be doubled two weeks before starting the antibiotics, during the antibiotics and three to four weeks after the antibiotic treatment is over. Then return to the recommended daily dose.
Probiotics should be taken with food and as far away from the time of day ingesting the antibiotic. If you take antibiotics three times a day with meals, take probiotics together with an extra snack during the day, spread out as far away as possible from the time of day that the antibiotic is ingested.
There are several high-quality randomized, placebo-controlled studies showing that probiotics reduce the negative side effects from antibiotics as well as reducing infections in the gastrointestinal tract caused by antibiotics. In a study, 135 hospitalized patients who received antibiotics were also given probiotics or placebo (ineffective placebo capsules). 34% of those who received ineffective placebo capsules experienced antibiotic-related diarrhea while only 12% of those who received probiotics experienced diarrhea. 17% of those who received the ineffective placebo capsules experienced diarrhea from the severe intestinal pathogen Clostridium difficile, while none of those who received probiotics experienced these symptoms.
Survival
Unfortunately, it is a persistent myth that no bacteria survive stomach acid. Consider that sauerkraut, other fermented vegetables, root vegetables, and bacteria in the soil provided us with a continuous intake of bacteria to the gut flora even though these were not encapsulated in capsules. However, Flora Plus+ contains prebiotics, Fructooligosaccharides (FOS), to increase the survival of bacteria to the colon and to prolong its effectiveness. Flora Plus+ also uses so-called DR capsules (Delayed Release) to protect the probiotics from stomach acid. DR capsules are the finest capsules we have come across to withstand stomach acid and they are of course completely free from plastic polymers. DR capsules help protect ingredients in dietary supplements that are sensitive to stomach acid. The capsule dissolves after a longer period of time and protects the ingredients in the capsule from breakdown in the stomach so that they reach the colon.
Store in room temperature
This probiotics can be stored in room temperature and still have the number of active bacteria intact by best before date.

Suggested use

Good for IBSI usually buy Flora 20-14 Probiotics but I tried Flora Plus+ to see the difference and also because Flora Plus doesn't need to be refrigerated which is handy on holidays. I think it worked well for my severe IBS-d.

This is the best probiotic I've triedI’ve tried several different types of probiotics for my stomach problems, but none have worked as well as this one.
